I’m an A-Level graduate and hail from the tiny country of Brunei Darussalam! I’ve always been a creative type and love to try and create new things. Running on coffee and determination to make a mark in the local creative industry, I’m often finding myself looking for ways to collaborate with the local art community and contribute to the Bruneian creative industry through small businesses and even through large government bodies.
I’m mostly self-taught, working on Adobe Photoshop for over half a decade. Recently, I also find myself working with Illustrator and occasionally Lightroom and Blender and never stopped learning new techniques and methods since. As someone once told me, if you think finally you’ve reached perfection, then you’re far from it. I’m always experimenting and trying new art styles and methods to my work from children’s storybook-esque illustrations to renaissance-like digital paintings.
Most of my artwork features Elky, a character I created sometime in 2015 and never stopped illustrating him since. He’s now the mascot of Moosethetics, a freelance design business for graphics and quirky gifts and pins I started in 2018. Because of the virtually non-existent market at the time, I’ve managed to start the original, locally-designed pin trend in Brunei Darussalam and now Moosethetics remains as the first and biggest business of its kind catering to budding artists wanting to turn their art into physical goodies to large institutes like Politeknik Brunei and the Embassy of France, Brunei Darussalam.
